Funds are Still Available to Improve Electrical Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings
Public sector electric energy efficiency projects that can be completed by May 15, 2013 may still qualify for reimbursement grants. Our partner, the 360 Energy Group can help you identify suitable projects, such as indoor lighting and provide technical guidance to help secure the best incentives available.
Twenty-one energy efficiency projects completed this past fall have realized $132,000 in annual savings. Incentives covered 70% of the costs and the average payback period is 1.5 years. Village halls, police, fire and pumping stations are the most common building retrofitted, though nearly any public building qualifies.
The new ‘direct install’ program that improves the efficiency of HVAC systems has used up most of the natural gas incentives budgeted, but electrical efficiency projects are still being sought.
